True Deception
Posted in Musings by peacenow at 8:37 am | No Comments »

Just want to make it clear that I don’t celebrate birthdays or deathdays.  Nonetheless, everyday, is a day close to our Rabb (Sustainer), every reminder need not be wasted.  It has been a year since my Father passed away, which was two weeks after Eid-ul-Fitr last year.  A passing year is an opportunity to make Muhasabah (take an account), Tadabbur (to ponder and reflect) on the Haqeeqat (Manifest Realities) of life – Death.

For with certitude, DUNYAA is the most deceitful matter , and DEATH certainly is the most Truthful Event. This poem reproduced below, goes some way to materialise my thoughts, so please, read and place your feet in my shoes.

Also continue to make Du’aa to Allah SWT for the forgiveness, and elevate all the Marhumeen, including my parents.

Songs of Experience

by Talib al-Habib

Album: Song of the Wayfarer

Through the window of my eyes,
Memories of being a child,
I was never afraid when you were by my side,
And I grew without a care.
Knowing you were always there
To protect me, to raise me,
Oh my Father Dear!

Chorus:

How I relied on your strength, and your wisdom
Your calm patience guidance, your kind loving gaze
Lord! let whatever I’ve done that has please you
Rain down like Blessings and Mercy on them

What would I be if not for you
Teaching me how to live and grow?
Now I can only hope that I have made you proud
Oh how little thanks we show
To our Lord who has bestowed
Parents who’d sacrifice for us heart, breath, and bone

And now I understand, now grown into a man
The cares that must have burdened you,
The fierce love you held so deep within;
and as I gaze into my childrens’ eyes
It’s only now, Oh Father, that I truly realise

If I ever caused you grief,
Then I ask you, Forgive me!
For the sake of the one sent to all as mercy
How the days and seasons fade!
I have grown and you have aged
But as I lend you my hand, know one thing stays the same
